Technical dialogue on micro class drones
On the 27th of October 2014, Polish Armament Inspectorate announced its intention to conduct a technical dialogue on an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) grade micro-vertical take-off and landing. Drones of this class will be the smallest of more than 80 sets of UAS planned to be acquired in one of the 14 priority operational programs known as the Plan of Technical Modernization of Polish Armed Forces for the years 2013-2022, concerning optics and satellite recognition. As the name suggests, micro UAS platforms will be very small - their take-off weight can not exceed 2 kg and the dimensions can not be biggerr than 50x30 cm.

UAS micro that has been planned to be purchaced, beyond the small dimensions should have a range with full air connectivity between the platform and the ground station in the area of visibility of antennas (LOS) of not less than 1.5 km and a flight time longer than 25 minutes. The set including the full bundling should be able to be transported by one soldier. Applications for the participation in the dialogue the companies may submit on to the 28th of November 2014, and the dialogue is planned to be completed by the end of March 2015. The financing of micro UAS was guaranteed by the resolution adopted on the 23rd of June 2014 by the Government concerning the establishment of program "The priority tasks of Technical Modernization for the Polish Armed Forces under the operational programs." This is the second technical dialogue this year on the UAS. The first one was announced in September and concerned drone mini-class VTOL codenamed Dragonfly.
